Asbestos – Competent Person Training

The Asbestos and Lead Awareness Competent Person Training is a 4-hour course designed for professionals seeking to enhance or refresh their understanding of safety protocols in environments where asbestos may be present. The training provides a comprehensive introduction to asbestos, including its history, identification of asbestos-containing materials, health risks associated with exposure, and the regulations governing worker and public safety. Participants will also learn effective strategies for protecting workers from asbestos exposure, ensuring site safety, and maintaining compliance with applicable standards. This course equips competent persons with the knowledge needed to identify hazards and implement protective measures to safeguard workers and the public.
CCS is partnering with the Environmental Management Institute at Ivy Tech to provide this training. Instructor will be Todd Clayton with EMI.
