DESCRIPTION:This 4-hour course prepares individuals to serve as the designated “competent person” for trenching and excavation operations. Participants will learn to assess soil conditions\, implement protective systems\, and conduct daily inspections in compliance with OSHA Subpart P. \nLearning Objectives \n\nClassify soil types and assess trench stability\nIdentify trenching hazards and implement control measures\nSelect and apply appropriate protective systems\nConduct daily inspections and document findings\nUnderstand the responsibilities of a trench competent person\n\nParticipants will receive a printed certificate of completion from ARS.
